Volunteer Fields

The volunteers will be used in particular in the following areas:

Team attaches

  • Close cooperation and communication with Hospitality / Volunteers and Competition
  • personal assistance of about two to five teams in the accreditation of the teams
  • personal assistance for inquiries of any kind, especially on the day of arrival
  • after the arrival phase: cooperation in the area Info-Points / OC-Office

Requirement: German knowledge and at least one foreign language (English or national language of the participating teams).

Information Points / Organization office

  • Close cooperation and communication with the overall management as well as the areas Hospitality / Volunteers and Competition
  • Assistance in all administrative tasks, especially handling telephone calls, office work, etc .
    Occupy / Organize the Info Point
  • collecting / passing on information to the tournament participants / spectators
  • contact point for inquiries of any kind; Collecting / forwarding / answering these requests
  • cooperation in the accreditation of all participants on the day of arrival

Requirement: good knowledge of German and English.

Hostess service (VIP areas & congress)

  • Close cooperation and communication with the hospitality / volunteer sectors
  • contact person for guests of honor and sponsor representatives as well as for participants of the IFA Congress
  • disclosure of information to VIP guests and congress participants
  • card control and display of information material in the VIP area
  • supervision of VIP areas
  • Assistance at opening and closing ceremonies and award ceremonies

Result / Competition Service

  • Close cooperation and communication with the field of Competition
  • Publication incl. Preparation of all information relevant to the audience in the event area, in particular by means of posting out instructions, intermediate results and results
  • distribution of schedule, intermediate results and results to the functional area media
  • Collection of statistics, intermediate results and final results

Setup / Breakdown

  • Close cooperation and communication with the field of Competition
  • Construction and dismantling of the individual, especially sporting functional areas
  • distribution of the bearing materials in the different functional areas
  • Supervision of the tournament area and waste management

Media

  • Close cooperation and communication with the media sector
  • Acceptance / transmission of information of any kind from / to journalists
  • preparing press conferences and press releases
  • translation of German articles into foreign languages, esp. into English
  • Participation in the preparation of the reporting, especially in the field of social media
  • Daily summaries for tournament papers and the Internet
  • a daily press review / daily summary / press releases
  • completion of organizational work (eg service, support of the Press Center and the Mixed Zone)

Catering

  • Close cooperation and communication with the Hospitality / Volunteers area
  • purchase / preparation of meals for all volunteers, members of the press and referees
  • distribution / service of catering in the functional areas
  • Take over all relevant activities for taking meals

Transportation service

  • Close cooperation and communication with the Hospitality / Volunteers area
  • transport of athletes and officials between the airport / train station / hotel / ICD
  • handling of ‘special trips’ (eg shopping, transport, etc.)
  • Refueling, washing the vehicles driving
  • information / contact person for passengers
  • Pick-up and return transport of vehicles including participation in a driver’s briefing

Requirement: driving license class B valid for Austria
Note: Transportation cars cannot be taken home for legal reasons!

Security

  • Close cooperation and communication with the Hospitality / Volunteers area
  • card / passage control in the stands and to the various functional areas (eg press center and others)
  • Place instruction / contact person in the spectator area
  • passing on information to the viewers
  • cooperation with the professional security service
  • Information of the area management in case of problems

Cash register and access area

  • Close cooperation and communication with the finance sector
  • sale of tickets and tokens
  • contact person in the audience area
  • passing on information to the viewers
  • Information of the division management in case of problems
