Recap
What a strong performance of the newcomer to the 2016 World Cup against the finalists. Against the brazilian offense with Tatiane Schneider and Isabella Lucchin the New Zealand defence showed some really great actions. The South Americans needed four or five attempts for their points. In the first set it was only 7:4 for Brazil, who finally played out their experience. New Zealand acclaimed every of their eight points frenetically.
Angela Melo (BRA): It was a great game to start into this championship to get used to the court and the ball. We were rather surprised because New Zealand had a great team although they just started to play fistball in March.
Annelise Oosterbaan (NZL): We are so ecstatic at the moment and had so much fun playing. It was an amazing game and we fought pretty hard. Overall I am really proud of our performance.
